IBM and Avaya are expanding their partnership to help businesses better secure their UC environments. Avaya has certified some security products from IBMs ISS unit to run with its new Aura UC architecture. In addition, IBM will incorporate Aura into its own converged communications solutions.

DOJ claims ring hacked into the telephone systems of large U.S. corporations and sold the information to Pakistani nationals residing in Italy. Information about the networks resulted in over 12 million minutes of illegal telephone calls valued at more than $55 million.

indicted three individuals June 15 who allegedly hacked into the telephone
systems of large corporations and entities in the United States and abroad, selling
information about the compromised telephone systems to Pakistani nationals
